When we first started discussing this topic, we both agreed that the first step to getting past the autopilot state was asking ourselves,“What is my purpose in life?” As we talked, we realized that we both did this as often as we could.
What we were both talking about was the idea of self-awareness, which is the ability to think about ourselves. When we talk about this, we often mean self-awareness of who you are, what you want, how to get there, and how to stay on target. In our case, we mean self-awareness of what you want to do and be.
It seems that people who are self-aware tend to be on autopilot, and people who aren’t tend to think about themselves all the time.
What if we could all learn to be self-aware? Not just that we want to be self-aware, but that we are on autopilot. We don’t have to be on autopilot every moment of our lives, but if we were, we would be in a much better position to do our best work.
To do our best work we have to stop and think about ourselves, because autopilot is a self-torturing state. To be truly self-aware we need to be aware of our self. We need to know what we want to do and be. As we said earlier, it doesn’t matter if we are on autopilot all the time, but we need to be on autopilot in order to be on autopilot.
The problem is when we’re on autopilot for so long that we forget we’re on autopilot, then we don’t control them again. Because we are programmed to be on autopilot, so we don’t control them again. In other words, we have to stop thinking about ourselves. If we could have stopped thinking about ourselves in our own way, then we would not be on autopilot.
It seems like we could stop thinking about ourselves if we could just stop thinking of ourselves as “I’m an emily onlyfans”. This is just a suggestion, but I think we could try this by first identifying the things that we are trying to do that autopilot-style.
